Today was glorious outside. Just glorious. The sun was shining and the temperature was a fabulous 77degrees in
the Windy City. The winter here is a hard, long one and this Georgia Peach has had a difficult time acclimating. Oddly, the cold has litttle to do with it but it’s the dreary, gray, monochromatic look of the clouds that present themselves day-in and day-out. For someone who finds the sunshine to be the source of all things “happy” loving and hating Chicago has become a double-edged-sword. I love all there is offered here but the gray can darken my mood and make me wonder why I would leave the nine glorious months of warm weather in the South for nine months that are “colder-than-a-well-diggers-arse-in-January.”
Today though, the wind was blowing and the sun shone on my back; which was adorned by a “wife-beater,” a mini, and a pair of mid-calf fur covered boots. Suddenly, standing in the sun I realized I had the youthful style of a Mid-Westerner with these silly boots. I had to laugh at myself because in my previous life I would not have touched a pair of these boots with a ten-foot-pole. Stilettos have always been the name of my game and next to my five pair of winter boots are a gorgeous line of 65+ stiletto’s waiting for their turn in the sun.
